Project: Treated water reuse models.
Location: Southern Europe
Problem: Optimise the water management model in regions with severe water shortages.
Solution (among others): Develop a model for the reuse of water after it has been treated and before it returns to the environment.

ENV: Treated water used to restore marshlands or lagoons. The water is treated by natural agents. // IRR: Irrigation // URB/DOM: Water for urban and domestic use // POT: Treatment plant // IND: Industrial use // RAS: Restoring ground water // (Source: Veolia)
Description: Once treated, the water from urban settlements is dedicated to industrial uses, the irrigation of farms and sports installations and the restoration of marshlands and ground water.
Achievements: Reduce the pressure on available water resources dedicated to supply drinking water. Optimisation of costs and yield.
